Frida Kahlo- The Two Fridas, Description
This painting by Frida Kahlo is dark, dismal, and ironically somewhat inspirational. Kahlo depicts two versions of her self sitting side by side, and holding hands. The emotional “vibe” depicted in the painting is cold and grey. One of the versions of herself in the painting has a broken heart, and the other’s is fully functioning. The version of Kahlo that possesses a broken heart is also holding a pair of shears. This signifies her progression from heart break, and her attempts to bring joy and love back into her life.
